I hold a Masters of Arts in Teaching degree from Spring Hill College and this is my 15th year to teach. I've taught Kindergarten, First, Third and Sixth Grades - the majority of my experience is in Third Grade. I taught an accelerated Third Grade class for one year in Berkeley, California. The California State Chess Champion was in my class, which inspired me to start St. Al's Chess Club three years ago and it's still going strong.
Excited About:
A new year of Chess Club with new members learning the game, veteran members honing their skills, and a new t-shirt design.
Reading some of my favorite books to students, including James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl and The Trumpet of the Swan by E.B. White.
Students' excitement about learning cursive has me excited about that as well.
Our new library and computer lab. New faculty members.
The addition of 4-H, Spanish and Beta Clubs this year.
